Sacrament of First Reconciliation
Congratulations Year 3 students on celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation last night -June 1st. May the God of Forgiveness bless you. Always remember that no matter what you have done, if you are sorry God will always love and forgive you. Thank you to your teachers Ms Selena, Miss McKay, Mrs Costello, Ms Taylor and your parents for their work and support in preparing you for the Sacrament.
In the words of Pope Francis:
“The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls us back to God and embraces us with his infinite mercy and joy. May we allow his love to renew us as his children and to reconcile us with him, with ourselves and with one another.”
First Eucharist (Communion)
Dates have been finalised for First Communion.

The masses will be celebrated at St Augustine’s church at 9.00 am.

Family Week

Feast of Pentecost
This great feast fell on Sunday 5th June. The Catholic Tradition of Pentecost signifies 50 days (or seven Sundays) since the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other disciples following the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus Christ. It marks the beginning of the church’s mission to the world. The festival of Pentecost is still important to Christians today because it reminds us how Jesus’ promise that God would send the Holy Spirit was fulfilled. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church because from that point on the apostles carried the message of Christ to the whole world. St. Augustine said that “The Holy Spirit was the soul of the Church. Just as the soul gives life to the body, so also the Spirit gives life to the Church.”
Come, Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.
