LET US PRAY
We thank you Lord, for Term Two as the community of St Augustine’s. Thank you for the caring staff, the amazing students and the parents. Thank you for your amazing power and work in our lives. Thank you for your goodness and for your countless blessings over us. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you for life and laughter, for health and happiness, for relationships and memories. Thank You for what we have now, for what we had yesterday, and for what You will continue to give tomorrow. Let us never take that for granted, but to always be grateful for every good and perfect gift that comes from You. During the holidays keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. May we have hearts full of thanksgiving not only today but every day of our lives. We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Amen.
Feast of the Sacred Heart
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Catholic tradition and celebrated by many in the church. This year the date was Friday 16th June. We call Jesus’ heart Sacred because this word means holy or belonging to God. The heart of Jesus is a sign of his great love.
Traditionally, the Feast of the Sacred Heart is always associated with giving donations to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Two weeks ago we began the Winter appeal for the wonderful society of St Vincent De Paul. Last year St Augustine’s families were most generous. In conjunction with the school Children’s Social Justice team and their action in showing concern for those in need, we are asking for this generosity to continue. As we enter the winter season, warm clothing and blankets, are most welcome. Your donation will help theVinnies volunteers to support those who are in most need. When considering whether something can be donated to Vinnies, the rule of thumb is if you’d give it to a friend, then it’s ok to give to Vinnies. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. Let us give to those in need through our compassion and love as Jesus did. Thank you for your support.

Father we rejoice in the gifts of love we have received from the heart of Jesus your Son. Open our hearts to share his life and continue to bless us with his love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
