Around the School
Book Week
Last week a ‘book parade’ was held to celebrate Book Week. Children were asked to dress up as a particular book character and both students and staff paraded around the asphalt area to show off their creative costumes. It was great to see so many parents and grandparents attending. Thank you to everyone for putting so much effort into your costumes. It was a fun day for everyone!
Out n About in Keilor (Yr 1-2 Excursion)
Last Monday, the Grade 1/2s embarked on a walk through our local Keilor area, as part of our Out ‘n’ About unit. On our journey, we saw many historical sites such as the Old Shire Hall, Gumm’s Corner, and Keilor Hotel. We ventured towards Iron Bridge observing the neighborhood flora and fauna, before finishing our trip with a picnic and play at Lagoon Park. The day was a valuable and exciting learning experience that the students were thrilled to be a part of. A great reminder of the scenic geographical features that surround our school.
Melbourne Museum – Prep Excursion
Last week, the Prep students went on an excursion to the Melbourne Museum as part of their Discovery Learning focus of ‘Dinosaurs’. There was lots of excitement and curiosity throughout the day as we explored the different exhibits in the Museum. Students were immersed in the ‘Triceratops Trail’ experience where they were able to look at fossils, replica body parts and learn more about different dinosaurs.
