Learning Matters

Around the School

A visit from Rev Bishop Terry Curtin for our Yr 6 Confirmation candidates.

Hello Everyone,

It’s the school leaders here, back with your weekly update.

A reminder for all of our Year 6 parents, that the Year 6’s have confirmation tomorrow night.  Bishop Terry came to the school on Tuesday to talk to us about the Sacrament of Confirmation.

For anyone curious about Interschool sports it has ended, on Friday the finals will begin. Even with giving our best efforts none of our teams made it to the finals.

Ayla Cucanic has done it again, winning all of her races for regionals so is now going off to state. Who knows maybe we might see her at the Olympics one day… Go Ayla!

Term 1 has been a very busy term for all at St Augustine’s. Students have shown that they are persistent and flexible thinkers as they have strived to progress with their learning this term and should be congratulated.

Remember to get your tickets for the Easter raffle which will be drawn on the last day of term -it might just be your lucky day.

Respectful Relationships

This year we are continuing our involvement in the Respectful Relationships program. RR is an initiative to support schools to promote and model respect and equality. It also supports educators to teach our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. It is a whole school approach which goes beyond the four classroom walls and modelling is at the core of how this approach works best.

Our focus this term has been on ‘Positive Coping.’  In Term 2 the focus will shift to ‘Help Seeking’ Learning activities in this topic will be  designed to help students discuss the importance of seeking help and providing peer support when dealing with problems that are too big to solve alone.
